Measuring your pet

Length: nose to base of tail, with the pet standing.
Weight: the most reliable single number. Weigh yourself, then yourself holding the pet, and subtract.
Girth: around the widest part of the chest, behind the front legs. Needed for anything worn.

Beds

A bed should be about 1.25x your pet's body length so they can stretch out. Cats and pets that curl to sleep can go closer to body length; dogs that sleep flat on their side need the extra room.

How it works

Type the name, pick the font

Add your pet’s name in the Pet name box on this page, then choose a colour and font from the options. What you type is what gets printed, so check the spelling and the capitals before you add to basket.

Every mat is printed to order. Give us a couple of days on top of normal handling before it ships.

Five fonts

Same mat, five different hands

The font is part of the option you pick, not a separate box to fill in. A flowing script with a small paw, a rounded bubble letter, a bold print, a fine handwriting with a ball of yarn, or a slanted script trailing little flowers.

Each colour is shown with each font in the photos below — the mat you see on the option you select is the one that gets made.

What arrives

One mat, flat packed

The mat ships folded in a sealed sleeve and wants a few hours flat before it sits properly — or a cool iron through a cloth if you are impatient.

Bowls and the wooden stand in the photos are not included. This listing is the mat on its own.

Sizing guide

Two sizes — measure your bowls, not your pet

Both sizes are 50 cm across. The difference is the depth — how far the mat comes out towards you, which is where most of the spillage lands.

Questions people ask

How do I give you the name?

There is a Pet name box on this page, just above the add to basket button. Type it exactly as you want it printed — we print what is typed, including capitals and any spacing.

Can I have two names on one mat?

Yes. Type both in the box the way you want them to read, for example “Keks & Simba”. Long names are set smaller so they fit the mat.

Which font will I get?

The one shown on the option you select. Each colour is listed five times, once per font, and the photo attached to each option is that exact combination.

Can I change the name after ordering?

Only if the mat has not gone to print. Email us straight away and we will try — once it is printed a personalised mat cannot be resold, so it cannot be returned for a change of mind about the spelling.

Is it machine washable?

Hand wash and dry it flat. A machine drum is rough on a printed surface and a tumble dryer is worse.

Are the bowls included?

No. The bowls and the wooden stand in the photos are there for scale — you are buying the mat only.

Shipping & Returns

Free shipping on every order. Tracking is sent as soon as your parcel ships. Personalised mats are printed to order, so allow a couple of extra days before dispatch.

30-day returns on unused items. Personalised items are made for you and cannot be returned for a change of mind — but if the print is wrong, damaged or not what you ordered, email support@thetinypet.com and we will put it right.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping. Standard shipping is $5.95 and free on orders over $49. Express is $14.95. Orders leave us within 1-2 business days; standard delivery usually takes another 5-9 business days, express 2-4. We ship within the Australia only.

Returns. Unopened items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund to your original payment method. Food and treats can only be returned unopened.

If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, email a photo to support@thetinypet.com with your order number. We will replace or refund it and cover the return shipping. Full detail on the Shipping & Returns page.

Sizing & care

Sizing. Measure your pet nose to base of tail and compare with the measurements in the description. Breed names are a poor guide - two dogs of the same breed can be 4 kg apart.

Washing. Beds and blankets are machine washable unless the description says otherwise. Wash covers separately, warm not hot, and tumble dry low so the filling keeps its shape.

Introducing something new. Change food gradually over about a week, mixing an increasing share of the new food in. Put a new bed where the old one was rather than somewhere better.

Safety. Supervise play with plush and rope toys, and put wand toys away between sessions. No toy is indestructible.
