Cordless water fountain
It throws the old water away by itself.
Most fountains push the same water round and round through a filter you have to keep buying. This one does the opposite: on a timer it tips the bowl, pours the old water into a sealed waste tank, and refills from a clean one. No pump circulating yesterday’s water, and no filter to replace.
The problem
A standing bowl goes off faster than you think
Hair, dust and saliva land in an open bowl and stay there. Within a day you have a film on the surface; within two you have the smell. Cats are famously fussy about it and simply drink less, which is the last thing you want.
Circulating fountains help, but they run the same water through a filter cartridge — and that cartridge is both a running cost and, once it is due a change, a place for bacteria to sit.
How it works
Three compartments that never mix
A 4.5 litre clean tank, a 2 litre waste tank, and the bowl in between. When the timer comes round the bowl tilts, the old water runs into the waste tank, and a measured dose of fresh water comes through.
Because the two tanks are sealed from each other, what your cat drinks has never been in contact with what was poured away.
The bowl
Ceramic, and it lifts out
The bowl is glazed ceramic rather than plastic. Plastic scratches, and scratched plastic is the usual suspect behind feline chin acne — the black specks people call black chin.
The whole unit pulls apart without tools, which is the only way a water appliance stays clean past the first month.
Water path
Stainless steel, not silicone tubing
The intake pipe is stainless steel. It is a small detail, but soft tubing is where biofilm builds up out of sight, and it is the part nobody ever cleans.

Capacity and noise
Two weeks of water, at 20 decibels
The 4.5 litre tank is roughly a fortnight for one adult cat, so a weekend away needs no arrangements at all.
It runs at about 20 dB. For scale, a normal speaking voice is around 50 dB. It will not wake anyone, which matters because a water fountain lives in the room you sit in.
No cable
Up to 60 days on a charge
It runs on a rechargeable battery, so it goes where the cat drinks rather than where the socket is. The 1800 mAh Basic version and the 4800 mAh Upgraded and Heated versions are otherwise the same machine.
Supplier testing puts the 4800 mAh at up to 60 days between charges. Treat that as a best case — heating, a thirstier pet and more frequent water changes all shorten it.
Controls
Buttons on the top, or the remote
Tap to set the dose, hold to change the water there and then. Three timed settings cover most routines.
The remote works from about five metres, which is the difference between getting up and not getting up.
Heated version
Water held at 28 degrees
The Heated version adds a thermostatic plate under the bowl that keeps the water at about 28 °C. Worth it for a cat that drinks noticeably less in winter, or in a house that gets genuinely cold. The Basic and Upgraded versions do not have it.

Good to know
Questions people ask
Does it need a filter?
No, and that is the point of the design. It does not recirculate water, so there is no cartridge to replace and no running cost.
How often does it change the water?
On whichever of the three timed settings you choose, and on demand whenever you press the button or the remote.
Where does the old water go?
Into a sealed 2 litre waste tank underneath. You empty and rinse that when you refill the clean tank — for one cat that is roughly a fortnight.
Does it have to be plugged in?
No. It runs on an internal rechargeable battery and charges between uses, so there is no cable trailing across the floor while it is working.
What is the difference between the versions?
Basic has the smaller 1800 mAh battery. Upgraded has the larger 4800 mAh one. Heated has the larger battery plus a plate that holds the water near 28 °C. Everything else is identical.
Can two cats share it?
Yes — the supplier rates it for up to three pets. A 4.5 litre tank simply empties faster with more of them drinking from it.
How do I clean it?
It comes apart without tools. Wash the ceramic bowl and both tanks, wipe the intake, and let everything dry before reassembling.
