Halloween
The spider costume, but hairier.
Eight long, shaggy black legs on a felt body that sits across your pet's back. The leg span is about 60 cm on the small and 78 cm on the medium — wide enough to read as a tarantula from across the room.

On the body
A felt saddle with legs
The body is 3 mm felt, shaped like a spider's abdomen, with a loop that goes around the neck and a Velcro strap that closes under the chest. It sits on the shoulders and leaves the back legs and tail free.
The legs are long plush with a shaggy pile, four each side. They sway when your pet walks, which is most of the effect.
The details
Felt, fur and Velcro
Felt for the body because it holds its shape without stiffening; plush for the legs because it looks like hair; Velcro because a costume should come off faster than it went on.

Cats and small dogs
Two sizes, both small
The small suits most cats; the medium suits a bigger cat or a small dog. Measure the chest behind the front legs — that is the measurement that decides whether the Velcro closes comfortably.

Questions people ask
How is it different from your bendable spider costume?
This is the hairy one: long shaggy legs, and two sizes for cats and small dogs. The other has smooth plush legs with wire inside that you can pose, and goes up to a medium dog.
Which size do I need?
Measure the chest behind the front legs. Up to 42 cm, the small; 40 cm and over, the medium. In the overlap, go by the neck.
Do the legs get in the way?
They stick out sideways and sway, and a pet that walks through a narrow gap will brush them. They do not reach the paws.
Will my cat actually wear it?
Some cats ignore a costume; others flatten themselves to the floor and refuse to move. Try it indoors for a minute with a treat before the day, and take it off if your cat stops moving. That is a no, not a pose.
Can my pet wear it all evening?
For photos and a short while, yes — but not unsupervised. A costume is dress-up, not clothing. Take it off if your pet pants, freezes, scratches at it or tries to reverse out of it, and never leave a pet alone in costume: straps and ties can snag.
Will it arrive before Halloween?
