Weight is the quick filter, chest is the one that decides fit. Measure around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Between two sizes, take the larger.

Questions people ask

How do I choose between two sizes?

Measure the chest rather than going by weight alone — two 6 kg dogs can be shaped very differently. If the chest measurement puts you between sizes, take the larger one: a carrier that is slightly roomy is comfortable, one that is slightly tight is not.

Is it safe for a cat?

It suits confident cats who like to see out, and it is not right for a cat who panics in the open. Always use the internal harness clip, and use a closed carrier instead for a cat you cannot predict.

Can they get out of it?

A determined pet can climb out of any open-topped carrier, which is exactly why the harness clip is there. Clip it to a harness rather than a collar — a collar takes all the force on the neck.

How do I clean it?

Spot clean with a cloth and mild detergent and let it dry fully before use. The structured base means it is not suited to a washing machine.

Sizing. Measure your pet nose to base of tail and compare with the measurements in the description. Breed names are a poor guide - two dogs of the same breed can be 4 kg apart.

Washing. Beds and blankets are machine washable unless the description says otherwise. Wash covers separately, warm not hot, and tumble dry low so the filling keeps its shape.

Introducing something new. Change food gradually over about a week, mixing an increasing share of the new food in. Put a new bed where the old one was rather than somewhere better.

Safety. Supervise play with plush and rope toys, and put wand toys away between sessions. No toy is indestructible.
