A braided nylon collar with a soft lining and a metal quick-release buckle — and the buckle itself is the ID. Your dog’s name and your phone number are laser engraved into the plate, so there is no tag swinging against a bowl at six in the morning, and nothing that can drop off in long grass. Three sizes covering necks from 25 to 61 cm, in six colours.

The buckle

Engraved where it cannot fall off

The plate is part of the buckle, not a tag hanging from a ring. It cannot come unclipped, it cannot get caught on a fence, and it makes no noise at all.

The buckle is metal with a quick-release catch, so it comes off in one press when you want it off — and stays shut when you do not.

The fit

Measure the neck, leave two fingers

S fits necks 25–40 cm and is 1.5 cm wide. M fits 35–56 cm at 2 cm wide. L fits 41–61 cm at 2.5 cm wide.

Run a tape around the neck where the collar will sit and leave room for two fingers underneath. The maker measures by hand and allows about 1.3 cm either way, so if you are on the line between two sizes, take the larger one.

Braided webbing, soft lining

Beige, tan, olive, teal, blue and red. The webbing is braided nylon rather than flat strapping, with a softer lining on the inside face where it sits against the coat.

The hardware is the same gunmetal black on every colour, which is why the engraved plate reads clearly on all six.

Every day

A D-ring, and a collar you can wash

A D-ring sits beside the buckle for the lead, so the collar does the two jobs a collar should: carry the ID and take the lead.

Nylon does not mind mud or rain. Wipe it down or hand wash it in cool water and let it dry before it goes back on.

Questions people ask

What goes on the plate?

Your dog’s name and a phone number — that is the layout the engraver works to. Put the number you actually answer on. The maker does not publish a character limit, so if what you send will not fit legibly we will email you before anything is cut rather than shrink it to nothing.

Can my cat wear it?

No. This buckle does not break away under pressure, and a cat that hooks a collar on a branch needs one that lets go. Cats need a proper breakaway collar — the engraved plate on this one is not worth that risk.

How do I choose between two sizes?

Measure the neck with a tape where the collar will sit, add room for two fingers, then read the chart. The maker allows about 1.3 cm of measuring error, so on the line between sizes, go up: a collar that is slightly long adjusts down, one that is too short does not.

Will the engraving wear off?

It is cut into the metal rather than printed on, so the text stays. The plate does pick up scuffs over a few years of a dog being a dog, the same as any metal buckle.

How long does it take to make?

It is engraved to order, so it leaves later than something we hold on the shelf. We send the wording back to you in writing before it is cut.

Sizing. Measure your pet nose to base of tail and compare with the measurements in the description. Breed names are a poor guide - two dogs of the same breed can be 4 kg apart.

Washing. Beds and blankets are machine washable unless the description says otherwise. Wash covers separately, warm not hot, and tumble dry low so the filling keeps its shape.

Introducing something new. Change food gradually over about a week, mixing an increasing share of the new food in. Put a new bed where the old one was rather than somewhere better.

Safety. Supervise play with plush and rope toys, and put wand toys away between sessions. No toy is indestructible.
