A rain layer you can see through, for a dog you can pick up.
Clear PVC with a hood, press studs down the chest and a slot in the back for the lead. It keeps the rain off the coat so you are not towelling a wet dog in the hallway — and because it is transparent, your dog still looks like your dog.
This is a coat for small dogs. The largest size, XL, fits a chest of 46–52 cm — a dog of about 4.5 to 6 kg. Listings that call this style a “large dog raincoat” are quoting the wrong thing. Measure your dog before you choose.
On the dog
Hood, brim, and a back that stays down
The hood has a stiffened brim, so the rain runs off in front of the face rather than into the eyes. It sits over the head rather than fastening under the chin, which most dogs accept far more readily.
The body covers the back and sides down to the top of the legs. It is a rain layer, not a snowsuit: the belly and the legs still get wet, and there is no lining to keep a dog warm.

Getting it on
Press studs, and a slot for the lead
It fastens with press studs along the chest, so it goes on over the head and does the front up afterwards. Nothing to thread a leg through.
There is a slot in the back panel: pass the lead through it and clip to the harness underneath, so the coat is not carrying any of the pull.
After the walk
Wipe it, fold it, done
PVC does not hold water. Shake it, wipe it with a cloth, and it is dry — no drying rack, no smell of wet fabric. It folds flat enough to live in a coat pocket.
Keep it out of the tumble dryer and off radiators. Heat is what makes thin PVC go cloudy and brittle.

Questions people ask
Will this fit a labrador?
No. The largest size fits a chest of 52 cm, which is a dog of five or six kilos. A labrador is six or seven times that. This style only comes in small.
How do I pick the size?
Measure around the deepest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, and match that to the chest girth column. Add 2–3 cm if your dog is between two sizes or still growing. Back length is the second check — measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
The photos show orange trim. What do I get?
White trim. The coat is the same in every other respect; the orange one is the other colourway from the same maker, and those are the photos that exist of it on a real dog. The first photo on this page is the version we ship.
Is there a hole for the lead?
Yes, a slot in the back panel. Run the lead through it and clip to a harness under the coat — not to the coat itself.
Will it keep my dog warm?
No. It is a single layer of PVC with no lining. It keeps rain off, which helps a wet dog stay warmer, but on a cold dry day it does nothing. Take it off indoors — PVC does not breathe.
Can it go in the washing machine?
No. Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it air. A machine will crease the PVC permanently and a dryer will ruin it.
